Would applying hair gel then talcum powder on my hair make it go white for my school production?

I need my hair to go white for the school production, and I don't have a lot to work with. I don't have enough money to buy a wig or hair spray, and I'm not allowed to use dye. So would by putting talcum/baby powder in my hair, then running some gel through it, then another layer of powder. Would it turn my hair fairly white?Would applying hair gel then talcum powder on my hair make it go white for my school production?
I haven't done it myself, but I've heard of lot of people using that exact method. Good luck!
