The purpose of finishing powder is basically to just set your foundation. It is usually used over liquid foundations to complete a look and makes it last longer through out the day. Depending on the powder, some have the purpose of reducing shine, minimizing pores, thin lines, etc. You use it all over your face. Hope that helped!
