When making cupcakes can you use hot chocolate powder instead of cocoa?

When making cupcakes can you use hot chocolate powder instead of cocoa because i don't have no cocoa and i really want to make some cup cakes, also what can i use instead of those paper cupcake wrapper things? And something interesting i can put inside the cakes which i could by from a local corner shop. Thanks, i bored you see :)When making cupcakes can you use hot chocolate powder instead of cocoa?
i have always used hot chocolate powder for my cupcakes and they are delicious

(Keep me one...lol)

instead of wrapping cases things cant you make a big cake so you can just cover the case in butter.

i love putting smarties in mine (and always eat one as soon as they come out of the oven cos the choccie inside the smarties is still melted ... mmmm

No don't use hot chocolate powder, it gives a weak chocolate taste when used in cooking, cocoa is always best because it gives a good strong chocolate flavour. Try using a bun tin which usually have 12 small seperate bun moulds, no need for paper cases then. Smarties, chocolate buttons, glace cherries, chocolate raisins, small pieces of crunchie (choc covered honeycombe) or small pieces of marshmellow.
Yes you can use drinking choc powder it's just that cocoa has more choc content. Don't know what you could use instead of cake cases as cup cakes usually are in those anyway and you could put a large choc button in the middle of the mixture before cooking, push it into the centre of the cake and then cook. Good luck.
I wouldn't, the hot cocoa mix has dry milk mix in it so it is not as strong as regular cocoa. You can just spray the muffin pan with non-stick spray to use instead of papers. M%26amp;M's inside or white chocolate chips.
You can use hot chocolate powder instead of normal cocoa, it's basically the same thing, and how about putting chunks of differen flavoured chocolate like white chocolate or dark chocolate, or smarties and flakes.
you can if you want to but it would taste different and would be weaker, which means you would have to use more than stated in the recipe. and the hot chocolate powder is more calorie consuming.
Yummie!! :)
No. They are not the same thing. Go buy some cocoa, or borrow some from a neighbor
